GUESS THE CORRECT USE OF OLD UTILITY ITEMS FROM THE FARM
Lets see if you can guess on what the smart wooden equipment our ancestors used on this farm, was for. The farm invites us all to contemplate the time that came before us, a more tranquil and slow period with lots of manual hard work in cooperation with nature itself.
WOODFIRED SAUNA
Welcome to our woodfired sauna, to warm your body and soul. You can cool off in the outdoor shower, or in the fjord or nearby river. Right next to the sauna, there is a bathroom with shower/WC available.
WANDERING
After a longer car trip through this long-stretched country, you will arrive at a spacious farm that invites you to wander around and ground. It is also perfect for yoga, a nap or play.
HIKE TO SEVLEGUTENS CAVE
During the stay we will tell you the story about “The Sevle boy”. His name was Ole O. Sevle (1808-1834), and he ran this farm back in the days. His life had a dramatic outcome, and for years he was hiding in a cave in the mountains behind the farm. The cave has gotten the name “The Sevle-boy’s cave” and this is a popular hike both for the locals and our guests.
BY THE FIRE PLACE
Every time the temperatures allow it, we light a fire in the spacious and elegant fireplace in the main house from year 1850, with self-chopped wood from the woods behind the farm. Rainy days start off a slightly softer note, when this is the breakfast view.
FOREST BATHING
The farm is surrounded by tre-covered mountain sides on every angle. Among the trees, paths and forest roads will take you to the top or large open fields. On the top there are several mountain lakes that awaits you with its utter peacefulness.
We will gladly give you tips on where to go for light - moderate - advanced hikes in the area. This is a mountain county, with plenty of hiking opportunities.
BEER TASTING
We serve a very popular beer from just down the valley, that is brewed on a preserved train station. Brown ale, IPA, Blonde, American pale ale og Stout.
FARM BISTRO
We serve todays menu at 6 PM in front of the fire place in the main house from 1850, for our staying guests.
During your stay we hope that the farm invites you to enjoy the fresh countryside air, the peaceful atmosphere and soothing energy of the forests. Rest your gaze upon the neighbour’s cows, watch the stars on the night sky, finish your book, listen to the birds chirp from the swallows that live in the old barn on pillars, walk bare foot and aimlessly around and take a nap on the lawn. Watch the snow land on the farm building roofs, and enjoy a hot cocoa in front of the fire place while you contemplate life. Learn a little something about the historic architecture and life at an ancient family farm in a valley, enjoy a woodfired sauna bath with a cold dip in the fjord to top it off.
