AN ANCIENT FAMILY FARM ABUNDANT WITH CULTURE AND HISTORY IN THE UPPER PART OF A LONG-STRETCHED VALLEY

The name “Sevle”

means

the farm

by the fjord

Sevletunet is one of the oldest farms in the area, and has been in our family since 1837.

Our father / grand father and grand mother / great grand mother run both the towns post office and telegraph in the main house.

The main road used to go straight through the farm and old Gro used to sit on the porch and invite people in for coffee. The kettle was always kept warm on the stove, in case of passer-byers.

Traces from the 17th Century, has been found on the premises; the tip of an arrow.

At Sevletunet you are invited to spend the night in one of the characteristic guesthouses with timber walls and soulful atmosphere, from the 17th or 18th Century.

The old timber barn is the second largest and second oldest barn in Norway and is built in 1632.

At Sevletunet we have welcomed guests from around the world since 1997

The hostesses that will welcome you are Gro Margun and Gro. Yes, 100% of the staff is named Gro, for your convenience only. We are a mother and a daughter that are the 5th and 6th generation that runs this farm.
